이번 봄 학기에 듣는 부전공 과목 중에 하나인, European Language Portfolio for Young Learners 수업을 듣고 나서 궁금증이 생겨서 교수님께서 eLearn에 올려주신 관련 논문 하나를 읽게 되었다. 지난 학기에 배웠던 내용들과 어느정도 일맥상통하게 연결되는 부분이 있어서 좋았고, ELP가 실제로 어떤식으로 활용되는지 그리고 Language Learning에 있어서 우리가 어떻게 더 초점을 맞출 수 있을지에 대해서 생각해볼 수 있었다. 대학교 관련 서적이기 때문에 아마 대학교 도서관이나, E-Library를 통해서도 쉽게 대여해서 읽을 수 있을것이라고 짐작한다. 수업도 아직 많이 남았기도 하고, 관련된 논문을 몇 개 더 제공해주셔서 개인적으로 이번 학기를 통해서 Young Learner들의 L2 학습에 대한 내용을 더 심도있게 공부할 수 있을 것 같아 기대가 많이 된다.

대표 교수님 중 한 분인 Ritva가 이번 학기에 개인 건강으로 인한 수술을 받게 되어, Researcher이자 Tutor인 Yali와 함께 수업을 이어나가게 되었다. 원래 같이 수업을 듣던 친구들이 많이 함께해서, 후에 있을 조별 과제도 무사히 잘 마무리할 수 있기를 바라는 마음이다. ELP의 중요성을 이 논문 하나로 정의할 수는 없겠지만, 분명한 것은 주목할 만한 변화가 있었다는 것이라고 할 수 있을 것 같다. 사실 나도 내 부전공 커리큘럼에 들어가 있지 않았다면, 내가 과연 이 과목을 선택했을까? 싶은 마음도 있지만, 현재로서는 더 궁금한 마음도 들고 자세히 배워볼 의향이 있다. 이번 봄 학기에 TP (Teaching Practice)도 앞두고 있어서, 굉장히 기대가 되기도 하고 떨리기도 하고 그렇다. 정신 차려보면 학기가 끝나있을 것 같아서, 열심히 하루하루 최선을 다해서 많은 것들을 배우고 싶다.

All I have to say is, that it was genuinely great to see what the main parts of ELP (the Language Passport, the Language Biography, and the Dossier) were and why we had to focus on those elements without omitting any of them. Not just myself, but I found many others also hadn't heard of ELP before, but since I got to know a bit of it, I've been intrigued to study more of the concept. Even if, now, in many countries, they don't use ELP much compared to before. Hopefully, I can share more of my insights in the near future, and I do think it will help my learning journey throughout the whole uni time in Joensuu. I don't wanna sound cheesy or anything, but I gotta admit that I'm tremendously happy with where I'm at now and the opportunities I've had, which I had to fight for myself to get them. So, it's a pure pleasure to learn what I've been wanting for a long time. 🥰
